Sunshine Farms is a dream in the making for our family.  We’ve worked for several years setting up the animals and facilities, starting from the idea that we’d like to have raw milk and perhaps other people would too.  However, despite the heritage of our country (millions of the previous generations grew up drinking raw milk) significant regulations have been enacted to restrict raw milk sales.  Working with the New Mexico Department of Agriculture, we have worked through the regulations and received a permit to sell raw milk (in our county only).

Our first product is raw milk!  This is the old fashioned milk with cream rising to the top.  (Both the cow’s milk and the goat’s milk have cream, but the goat’s milk cream rises much more slowly and will not collect as much at the top).  The cow’s milk may have more than a pint of cream on the top of a gallon, which will make butter, whip up into great desserts, or just mix to make great tasting milk.   As stated earlier, we’ve been able to receive a permit from the state of New Mexico to sell raw milk!  Other products we hope to add include eggs, vegetables, apple cider, fruits and herbs –both culinary and herbal, all according to the season. 

While we are not certified organic, our animals and plants are free of additives, hormones, or other manufactured production enhancement treatments.
